Arkansas High Country Race, Round 2
Tomorrow morning at 6:30am, I’ll set off on the Arkansas High Country Race, a 1,000 mile (…or 1,019.7 if we’re diving into specifics) loop all around northwest Arkansas.
This is round two for me, having successfully taken part in the second edition of ArHC back in the fall of 2020. That was my first attempt at a bikepacking race and seven months into Covid was a good time to start setting out into the world and exploring. I had a blast, it was absurdly challenging, and I came out on top. My time has been bested again (and again and again), so now that the start of the event is just a mile or two away, I’m excited to give it another crack.
The friendly people at Bikepacking.com have put together a fun Rigs of Arkansas High Country, in which you can gaze at this ferocious machine and others.
You can follow the action tracking dots here on Trackleaders. “The most fun staring at a screen with nothing actually happening” if you ask me!
I don’t know if riding 400 miles from Connecticut to Montreal for the world championships was a good idea or bad idea as it pertains to tomorrow’s adventure. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
