Holiday Gift Guide, Part Deux

Great work getting through part one. It’s now Laura’s turn to take a go at being Mrs. Claus. Mind you, she’s 100 times better at shopping than I am, so her ideas are at least 100 times better too. Ho ho here we go!

Laura’s goes shopping for the holidays:

Aloha Bags: these washable bags are available in different sizes and prints. I use them for packing to separate common items, for dirty clothes, for cosmetics and even thrown in a diaper bag when storing dirty diapers on the go.

Good American Jeans: I went searching for a variety of new jeans post baby. I have three stylish sisters who suggested I check out “Good American” denim. I was skeptical of any brand with a Kardashian sister behind it, but I was blown away with the fit and quality once I received them. Their website and imagery doesn’t do the jeans justice, in my opinion. The price point is just under the $200+ designer pairs and they often have promo sales. The fit has a bit of stretch, they never lose shape and they’re perfect for those legs that are muscular from cycling!

Moosepacks Seat Bag: Not only is Moosepacks a company with a spectacular couple behind the brand (love you, Matt & Katherine), they also make some wonderful products. My favorite is the saddle bag. No more boring black, now you get to choose some fun, visible colors. The bag is a perfect size where you won’t struggle to zip it closed with one tube, one CO2 and a tire lever, instead, it fits a few more items in a still-sleek size.

You might notice a bit of a trend here. Putting stuff into other stuff. That’s right, bags! We’ve each had a ROKA backpack for four or more years and they’re our go-to bag for easy access packing. They’re enormous enough to fit all your stuff, but still slim enough to fit in an overhead or under the seat in front of you.

SuperSix Evo SE: The do-it-all machine. If I could only have one bike, this would be it. Put slick tires on and you’ll feel as though you’re on a zippy road bike, but with knobbies, it’s an extremely capable gravel bike. I love the minimal branding, sleek look and the racy geometry.

Coal Beanie: If you know me, I am always cold which is puzzling given my Alaskan Native heritage. I wear a housecoat indoors in the winter, generally have on slippers or fuzzy boots and usually don a beanie. I recently bought this one and loved the soft pink color and cozy, fuzzy material. The website has a wide selection of beanie offerings and styles.

If Ted’s going to swing for the fences with the suggestion of a Sprinter van, then I’m going big with an espresso machine. We hemmed and hawed for years, wondering if the cost would prove worth it for this fancy machine and it remains one of our most loved household essentials. It turns out we drink tastier coffee and visit the coffee shops much less frequently due to having the luxury of this machine on our countertop. It is extra appreciated on those nights with broken sleep due to two littles around.

Velocio’s Women Thermal Bib Tight: The Velocio thermal bibs cover such a wide range of temps in the spring/fall/winter in Vermont and California too! They're just the right weight to keep my legs a little more insulated and warm but never overly warm. The material has enough stretch to not feel restrictive and a soft, brushed fleece feel to increase the cozy factor. I have multiple pairs in rotation for the majority of October through April (alright, sometimes May in Vermont too).

InsideTracker Ultimate Plan: This is the best deal of the year, $200 off the ultimate plan using code: LAURAKINGBF at InsideTracker.com/LauraKingComprehensive insight into your physiological data. The Ultimate Plan tests up to 43 blood biomarkers—including glucose, cholesterol, cortisol, and hemoglobin—for a complete and holistic analysis of your health, along with recommendations for continued optimization.
