I’m now in career 2.0 as a professional cyclist. I spent the first 15 years in the sport racing where I constantly put products through the ringer to figure out what’s truly the best of the best. Fast forward to the present and these are the companies with which I work today — the companies that push the envelope, produce the best, toughest, strongest, fastest, and most fun equipment in cycling.

Here are my partners who make this adventure possible, presented in alphabetical order:

The first road bike, mountain bike, cyclocross bike, and gravel bike I ever rode were Cannondales. That’s a total coincidence in those early years through cycling. It’s no coincidence that I ride Cannondale today. A New England brand with a global presence, they were the bikes that I rode in my final five years of the ProTour and they’re the most innovative, fun, reliable bikes on the market.

Founded by my good friend and former teammate João Correia, inGamba was the back of a napkin idea penciled together as a dream vacation on two wheels. Professional road racing is rarely glamourous, but the hospitality to take care of any cyclist can be extraordinary. From Tuscany to the Dolomites, the Alps, Portugal, Northern California and others, inGamba presents the best cycling experience you’ll ever have.

Starting in 1938, René Herse built top-quality, innovative touring, randonneur and racing bikes in France. Now with a modern day twist on exploration and long-distance racing, René Herse Cycles sets the benchmark for riding on road and off. I’ve loved running ever-wider tires at lower pressures with no penalty. With a simple choice of slicks or knobs, here’s my tire guide for choosing where the rubber meets the road.

It doesn’t get more authentic than Ride with GPS. I honestly don’t remember using any other mapping software. They were the first and they remain the best. Follow me on Ride with GPS here.

Sarah and Chris created Saris — get it? Sar-is! (True story.) Made in the USA, Saris pushes the envelope in function and aesthetics. Can we reiterate that, made in the USA. From their standard trainers to their high-falutin’ H3 smart trainer, the MP-1 platform, the MRT-2 or SuperClamp racks, it’s an honor for me to partner with this amazing company.

My first domestic pro road team was on SRAM. We Made the Leap with douple-tap shifting and I’ve proudly flown the SRAM flag for 12 of the past 14 years. From double-tap to eTap, Wi-FLi to AXS, SRAM pushes technology forward more than anyone else out there. Their innovation matches up with creativity across the SRAM family of brands.

SunGod is a company with community at its core. Conveniently they have an equal priority on making amazing eyewear. They are a certified B Corp and are carbon neutral. All packaging is made from recycled and recyclable materials and their glasses have a lifetime guarantee. Sheesh, what’s not to like?!

UnTapped is a unique one here, because they’re not just an incredible supporter of what I do, UnTapped is a company I co-founded. I was tired of downing chalky gel after gel and I knew that maple syrup was packed nutritional benefits making it more than just something for pancakes. I met some friends and athletes back home in New England and we founded this company during the 2013 with a successful crowdfunding campaign. Now with a full lineup of energy packs, waffles, and drink mixes, UnTapped is the only sports nutrition I use. It’s as helpful on the bike as it is easy to ingest, digest, and tasty for any time of the day. Check us out at UnTapped.cc.

Velocio makes the best cycling clothes. Period. I know the owner/head-designer, Brad, and his meticulous attention to detail makes every article of clothing the best on the market. Their crowning achievement is outstanding product delivered with subtlety, matched with a sense of social responsibility unlike any other company out there.

I’ve been using the WHOOP strap for almost five years now and love looking at the data every day, without fail. Always introducing new features like the Live Stress Monitor or Daily Journal, this is something I rely on every day to help steer my day.

Zipp is known for setting the standard in high performance wheels, but more than anything they’re known for pure speed. I love how Zipp completes the build on all my bikes with stems, handlebars, seatposts, and bartape. That said, they also get rowdy and exciting with XPLR bars or eye-catching silver components.
