Anyone Want to Go Camping?
I keep calling it “gravel camp”, but that’s a bit of a misnomer. It’s more like a two-and-a-half-day cycling dream vacation.
Last year, Laura, the kids and I spent a handful of days at Mad Bush Falls. MBF is a resort smack between the two ski areas, Mad River and Sugarbush, hence its name. Oh, and falls because there’s a spectacular waterfall in the backyard of the resort.
It’s intentionally designed for go-getters of the outdoor variety. I think frankly anyone would enjoy their stay at Mad Bush Falls, but skiers and cyclists of all types are especially in a heaven here. Smack in the heart of the Green Mountains, you can go in literally any direction and find an amazing outdoor experience. Gravel roads everywhere, some of the best mountain biking in the state, and road riding up and down the valley, this is about as good as it gets anywhere.
After our super fun stay, we got in touch with the friendly folks running the show there at MBF and we concocted the idea of a Gravel Kings Weekend. In particular we have group rides planned, workshops, sauna, trips to the swimming hole, creemee stops, and an incredible food scene (which foods, beer, wine, NA options, coffee, etc.), and more.
The point being, June 20-22 are the dates. There are still spots available although they are limited. So if riding your bike in Vermont with good people at an ultra hip resort — with glamping spots available if camping really is your thing — hit this link and follow up quickly for more to book the highlight of your entire summer!
