p.p.s. Per the original letter, I just thought of two more. 1) Italians really do exclaim “Mamma Mia!” when something startling happens. 2) The whole rule about Italians not having milk in their coffee after lunch – as in a cappuccino – is a farce. They have cappuccinos all day long and late into the night! That’s apparently a figment of the American imagination.
